Blogging Through The Snow
Hey, folks, sorry to have missed you all for a few days, but we’ve been dealing with a lot of snow here. It comes with living way up in the mountains. (I’ve included a picture of my back yard.)
Here’s a little ditty that’s been getting me through these cold days:
Blogging through the snow,
Making spirits bright.
Oh, what fun it is to go
Blogging through the night.Jingle bells, blogging’s swell
When it’s cold outside.
Power’s on, but not for long.
Keeping warm and dry.
Okay, it’s not that great, but the point is that I’ve been thinking about being here and posting something. It’s just that “real life” keeps getting in the way. Annoying, isn’t it?
Getting the kids to school is a problem now. Shoveling the deck, stairs, and walkways is hard work. (That’s why I have a nice cup of hot cocoa ready for them when they finish.
) The propane tank has to be kept filled, which costs way more than it should. Etc., etc., etc.
While I’ve been busy, the comments have piled up. That’s a really good thing, but now I have to catch up. There is something that I have to say, though, that I’ve been dreading:
Not Awards
I really appreciate my readers thinking of me, but it seems that a current trend running through many blogs is the tendency to give “awards” that are not really awards. I don’t want to alienate anyone, but an “award” that requires the “winner” to pass it along and link to numerous other sites is not an award; it’s a link exchange.
I believe that those who’ve given it to me (loislane26 and gamingtips ) are sincere in their offer and actually believe that they’re helping me, but I’m trying very hard to keep this site from becoming a link farm. I even edit comments that come with multiple links.
It’s an honor to have so many people comment here, and it’s a special honor that those who’ve offered this are ones who really believe that I deserve an award. I hope they’ll understand why I can’t accept it. I apologize, and I hope that they’ll continue to come here.
Reviews
On a more positive note, Kat (of Review Me TODAY!) has written a wonderful review of my site. (Like I’d actually mention it here if it was a bad one.)
Man In The Moon is a funny blog about “a lone man in a female world of flowers, chick flicks, periods, and puberty…” Every few days we get a new post on being a man in a woman’s world.

Youthmystique had this to say:
Found on loislane26’s site, youthmystique.
The blogger writes about what life is like being a man surrounded by females. I guess us girls can be a bit to handle sometimes so I can empathize with him. (Basically, during that “special” time of the month.)
I hope that this post finds you all well and not getting too overwhelmed by the winter weather. Take care.
Lesson Learned:
Stay on top of things or they’ll pile up on you.
